<nnordrum>

willem: you written your own TypeConverters?

02:05

<nnordrum>

I can't figure out how to get IDEA to recognize the TypeConverter file as a resource...

02:14

<willem>

nnordrum : Can IDEA recognize the annotation? Camel uses the annotation to pick up the TypeConverters.

03:42

<nnordrum>

yeah, but it won't look for the annotaton w/o that file... I "cheated" and just copied the file into my output directory :)

03:43

<nnordrum>

I'm refactoring to use beanRef anyway

08:00

<gertv>

jstrachan: Aileen asked me about a roadmap for Camel for next week

08:00

<gertv>

jstrachan: hi, btw ;)

08:00

<jstrachan>

hey!

08:01

<gertv>

there's no such thing yet, iirc, right?

08:01

<jstrachan>

JIRA :)

08:01

<jstrachan>

but now 1.4's done we should start filling JIRA up with more longer term ideas etc

12:55

<jstrachan>

yay, camel now #6 in popularity of apache projects: http://www.nabble.com/Apache-f90.html

12:55

<jstrachan>

below maven, struts, wicket - which is pretty respectable!

12:58

<gertv>

yeah, that is impressive

13:01

<jstrachan>

jstrachan is just trying out that google code plugin...

13:14

<hadrian>

i had an internet outage, i am publishing the kits now

13:52

<nnordrum>

jstrachan: you use IDEA right?

13:52

<jstrachan>

yeah

13:52

<nnordrum>

how the eff do you get IDEA to see TypeConverter as a resource?

13:52

<nnordrum>

(the one in META-INF)

13:53

<jstrachan>

you using the maven stuff in IDEA?

13:53

<nnordrum>

I ended up cheating and just copying the dir/file into the build dir :)

13:53

<jstrachan>

I've sometimes found I had to add src/[main|test]/resources to the classpath sometimes

13:53

<jstrachan>

:)

13:53

<jstrachan>

seems a little gremlin of IDEA's mvn integration sometimes

13:53

<nnordrum>

ah, maybe that's it... drove me NUTS

13:53

<jstrachan>

though am on the EAP now and haven't seen that in a while

13:54

<jstrachan>

yeah!

13:54

<nnordrum>

yeah, we hit an IDEA bug last night with maven deps

13:54

<jstrachan>

EAP is a bit nicer for mvn btw; particularly when you hack pom.xml, its got a quicker reload thingy in it

14:02

<nnordrum>

btw, camel-jdbc = beautiful :)

14:03

<nnordrum>

whipped up ETL in < 1 hour :)

14:05

<jstrachan>

:)

14:05

<jstrachan>

nnordrum: btw did you ever get anywhere with the console thingy? want me to commit what you've got so far etc?

15:00

<jstrachan>

nnordrum: btw did you ever get anywhere with the console thingy? want me to commit what you've got so far etc?

15:03

<nnordrum>

sorry, was in meeting

15:04

<jstrachan>

no worries :)

15:04

<nnordrum>

I actually lost it in a hard drive failure... (but I hardly had anything). Will need some refactoring of the core to get access to some content, so better off for 1.5.x

15:05

<jstrachan>

damn ! :(

15:05

<jstrachan>

no worries

15:07

<jstrachan>

I just created a JIRA to collect ideas and hopefully one day code :)

15:07

<jstrachan>

https://issues.apache.org/activemq/browse/CAMEL-743

15:16

<nnordrum>

when's 1.4 due out btw?

15:17

<jstrachan>

its out!

15:18

<nnordrum>

really? wasn't in the svn repo I looked at...

15:21

<nnordrum>

haha, http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/org/apache/camel/apache-camel/ 1.4.0/ 22-Jul-2008 08:21 -

15:21

<nnordrum>

so it wasn't out LAST NIGHT ;)

15:21

<nnordrum>

and no news on the Camel site...

15:22

<nnordrum>

you're slacking on your marketing!

15:22

<jstrachan>

yeah!

15:22

<jstrachan>

just hacking a news section on the home page...

15:52

<jstrachan>

hadrian: btw did you read this http://activemq.apache.org/camel/release-guide.html

15:52

<nnordrum>

finally! been waiting for this system to crash for a week now!

15:55

<hadrian>

jstrachan: i even edited it :)

15:55

<hadrian>

why

15:56

<hadrian>

?

15:56

<jstrachan>

the tasks at the end were not done

15:56

<jstrachan>

e.g. editing the Download page, the XSD references, the JIRA release etc

15:56

<jstrachan>

just wondered if you missed them

15:56

<hadrian>

kits are published, just to post the news announcement

15:56

<jstrachan>

basically the section at the bottom 'Announcing the release' needs to be done; figured since you did the release you should post the news etc

15:57

<jstrachan>

I've hacked the Download page for ya

15:57

<hadrian>

http://www.apache.org/dist/activemq/apache-camel/

15:57

<hadrian>

i was doing it now, on the phone

15:57

<hadrian>

i had to wait for the kits to be published, there is a delay on the apache site

15:57

<hadrian>

now they're up

15:57

<jstrachan>

yay the 1.4.0 xsd is there now too http://activemq.apache.org/camel/schema/spring/

15:57

<jstrachan>

coolio

15:57

<jstrachan>

just checking :)

16:31

<hadrian>

jstrachan: forgot to mention

16:31

<hadrian>

the guys at the triangle jug asked me if i could give a camel presentation in aug

16:31

<hadrian>

could i steal one of your presentations?

16:33

<jstrachan>

sure!

16:33

<jstrachan>

you got a mac?

16:33

<hadrian>

doh :)

16:34

<hadrian>

but i don't have a keynote license :)

16:34

<hadrian>

i use openoffice

16:34

<hadrian>

jstrachan: should i buy a license?

16:38

<jstrachan>

keynote is great, I'd recommend it

16:39

<jstrachan>

I can send PDF/PPT but probably keynote is gonna look the nicest!

16:47

<hadrian>

great, thx!

17:34

<hadrian>

hadrian finally got to the beer part in the release process of 1.4.0

17:37

<jstrachan>

:)

17:38

<hadrian>

i updated the wikipedia page too, there was another place where it was referenced

17:38

<hadrian>

i forgot where
